XILE-RO BATTLE PRIEST PvP GUIDE
XILE-RO BATTLE PRIEST PvP GUIDE
by: HenHen
Introduction:
Survive, approach, kill. That’s how a battle priest rolls.
The battle priest is a very beginner-friendly class, simply because there is a comparatively large margin of error. If you use the proper build, and the right equips, it will be very hard for any classes to kill you. Make no mistake, however. The battle priest does take some skill and experience to play, and despite your preparations, a skillful opponent can still make holy pie out of you.
Now, I write this guide assuming your opponent is as good as or better than you. That’s why some of my strategies may seem extremely complicated and unnecessary. If you fight someone weaker, you can use simpler tactics, though the basic idea would still be the same.
Equipment Guide
Weapons
Book of Life [2 Hydra 2 Assaulter Cards]
Book of Life [2 Magnolia Cards + 2 Savage Bebe Cards]
Holy Flail [2 Hydra 2 Assaulter Cards]
Rod [Monkey Fist Card x 4]
Mace [3 Marina Card 1 Snake Card]
Alternatively you can have 2 maces, 1 with 4 marinas and 1 with 4 snakes
Long Mace
Shield
Buckler [Thara Frog Card]
Buckler [Maya Card]
Guard [True Golden Thief Bug Card]
Helm
1) Several 4-slotted helms of your choice (which includes LKH, DH, EQW, and Event Hats)
You don’t really have much of a choice here. The event hats have negligibly better stats, but +10 event hats are fairly hard to come across.
All of them, except one should be +10
One of them needs to be +4 or +5 so that you can slot them with Gibbet cards
2) wings of angel [1] / wings of demon [1]
You will need a bunch of these. Obtainable from an NPC in exchange for 3 Golds; the +1 str is desirable, but for aesthetic purposes you could also use elf ears [1].
3) Alpha wings [1] / Shadowcraft wings [1]
Luk and Int are the most important stats to a battle priest, so Alpha wings (15 int/luk/agi, 5 str/dex/vit) is your best choice.
Cards you will need
- Bloody Knight Cards (as many as you need)
- Evil Snake Lord Card x 1 (anti curse/blind)
- Orc Hero Card x 1 (anti stun)
- Marduk Card x 1 (anti silence)
- Giearth Card x 1 (anti chaos)
- Permeter Card x 4
- Gibbet Card x 5
- Maya Purple Card x 1
- Pharaoh Cards x 4
Anti-sleep isn’t worth it. Sleep lasts only a couple of seconds against BP’s.
Contrary to popular beliefs, anti-silence isn’t crucial either. Silence doesn’t last long against a battle priest, so against the less-damaging classes, you can ditch anti-silence as well.
Even though priests can use bless, it’s still best to keep ESL on against things like snipers, sinX, and professors, simply because there’s the danger that they’ll kill you with their massive crits before you can bless yourself.
Armor
Fire Armor [Ghostring Card]
Fire Armor [Orc Lord Card]
Fire Armor [Cornutus Card] – Keep in storage
Water Armor [Marc Card] - optional / keep in storage
Wind Armor [Marc Card]
Formal Suit [Nightmare Terror Card] – optional, but really helpful
Formal Suit [Killer Mantis Card] – Necessary
Formal Suit [Chimera Card] – optional, but really helpful
Saint’s Robe [Argiope Card]
Saint’s Robe [Bathory Card] - keep in storage
Silk Robe [Ghostring Card]
Silk Robe [Pasana Card]
Coat [Ghostring Card]
Coat [Marc Card]
All as highly refined as possible. Do not use valkyrie armor or glittering jacket. They weight too much and are generally too much of a burden.
You should hotkey as many of these as possible. Your standard armor will be the fire armors, seeing as fire/neutral damages are the most common. The benefit of using two fire armors is that you get the bonus of having 30% reflect anytime you’re on fire element.
Fire armor [Ghostring] = Ghost Element
Fire armor [Orc Lord] = Fire Element with 30% reflect
Garment
You’ll need several slotted mufflers, refined as highly as possible, carded with:
- Raydric Card (-20% neutral damage)
- Jakk Card (-30% fire damage)
- Dustiness Card (-30% wind damage)
- Isis Card (-30% shadow damage)
- Mars Card (-30% water damage)
- Hode Card (-30% earth damage)
- Marionette Card (-30% ghost damage)
You’ll also need a +10 ragamuffin manteau. Buy some from the mall for 40z each and then keep trying to refine them until +10. It’s quite imperative that you do.
Shoes
Sleipinir
Shoes [Cat O’ Nine Tails]
Accessories
Rosaries (Lust Card) x 2
Earring (Faith Card) x 2
Clip (Greatest General card)
Ring (Poison Spore Card)
Glove (Marine Sphere Card)
Megingjordes x 2 – optional
The build: There is a large degree of flexibility in one’s build. This is just a rough outline.
Str: ~100
Agi: Enough for 195aspd with no BKC
Dex: Enough for instant cast with no BKC
Int: At least 11k heals
Luk: ~200
Vit: Whatever’s Left
General Tips and Tricks
Heal-glide: This is a crucial technique to learn as a priest. The idea is to heal, then quickly click somewhere else to move. The move command will cut a portion of the heal delay. If you do it fast enough, you’ll actually heal quicker than if you were standing still. The true value of this technique, though, is to allow you to move and heal at the same time.
Kyrie-glide: Same concept as heal-glide. Extremely useful for escaping, because kyrie blocks you from being hit, which means you cannot be stun-locked while doing this. Just remember to rebuff yourself with assumptio afterwards.
Flash-heal: Not really a trick, just common sense. First of all, know that you cannot heal yourself while you have GTB on. This is a big incentive not to have GTB on most of the time. However, against some opponents, like a battle prof, you’ll need to keep a TGTB on yourself at all times to avoid being destroyed by magic spam. Well, if they know you’re keeping a TGTB on you, they won’t spam magic anymore. Therefore, you should take that opportunity to quickly switch off TGTB and heal once, and then quickly switch back to TGTB. If all goes well, your opponent will even waste time casting magic on you after seeing you heal yourself.
EZ-FrEEze: Kyrie someone, then attack them with the triple ice mace. Due to your own kyrie, you cannot break the ice. Therefore, it provides an easy way to quickly freeze someone. Once they’re frozen, you can use that time to heal yourself, or you can kyrie them and then hit them with a poisoning weapon.
Int-Stacking: When you heal yourself, it’s generally useful to do so with the 4-MFC rod if you can manage it. It’ll provide a nice heal bonus as well as HP bonus, which makes you harder to kill. Also, you should always holy light with the 4-MFC rod, just because it will probably double the damage of your holy light.
PvP Tactics
Moving on to the heart of the guide, which is the battle tactics against individual classes. Note that this guide cannot possibly cover all the scenarios in combat, it can only give you a rough foundation on which to build upon. Know that the actual battle tactics are much more intricate and rely on your personal experience more than anything else.
Lord Knight
Difficulty: 2/5
Equipment Notes: Wear 3 permeter cards, 1 orc hero card, and marduk. Switch between the two fire armors, and wear isis muffler. 2 faiths.
Comments:
One of the easier matchups for a priest. A LK literarily cannot beat a good priest, no matter how much he tries. This is simply due to the fact that the LK has no real way of killing a priest as long as the priest can match him in switching. Most LK will rely on bash-headcrush with exe spam to kill a priest. If you use 3 Permeter and also an Isis card, you get 75% resistance to shadow element. Combine that with fire armor and you have 75% resistance against both executioner’s default element (shadow) and the fire element after the LK magnum breaks. If the LK starts using spiral pierce on you or starts doing higher Bash-HC damage, it probably means he switched to a neutral-element weapon. In that case, just switch back to Fire armor [Ghostring]
Surviving against the LK is easy. The slightly harder part is actually killing the LK. If the LK has pharaoh cards prepared, then be prepared for a long fight. Hitting a Lord Knight isn’t an easy task; the LK can Bowling Bash you and then stunlock you with spiral pierce, making it virtually impossible for you to damage him without long mace.
You can try to holy light, but smart LK’s usually prepare holy armor when dueling high priests.
Speaking of long mace, against a LK playing defensively, long mace is incredibly useful because it’s a lot easier to enter long mace’s range than book of life’s range when you’re attempting to hit a spiraling LK.
Obviously, attacking the Lord Knight comes with some risks. A good LK knows this, and won’t try to kill a priest until the priest acts aggressive. This is just something all BP’s have to deal with, because you won’t be able to kill the LK by turtling all day.
Paladin
Difficulty: */5
Equipment Notes: Raydric muffler is a must. Swap between cranial buckler and reflect (maya) buckler, as well as occasionally TGTB. Full BKC’s; no need for anti-status against a pally. 1 lust and 1 meg. 2 Meg if you can manage not to go over 50% weight, but I doubt it.
Comments: Most likely, this will end in a stalemate unless one of you don’t know what you’re doing. The high luk will prevent repeated freeze + sac from achieving any real success, and he probably won’t be able to outheal you with bolts neither. On the other hand, your weak crits won’t really do much to the paladin, not to mention the paladin has all those shield buffs and smite.
The best thing to do against a paladin is to use the EZ-FrEEze trick and poison him repeatedly to reduce his HP without him being able to heal. This mike take a while but unless the paladin sports an unfrozen armor (he most likely won’t), you should be able to freeze him repeatedly. The problem is, poison stops working when their HP is below 20%, so in the end you still have to rely on a lucky status to win it. Wear 2 megs if you can do it without going overweight, otherwise you’ll just have to deal with 1 meg. You can’t afford to go over 50% against a pally or else pressure will destroy you.
Speaking of pressure, pallies will probably be spamming pressure on you, which drains you of your HP. Fine, no big deal since priests have insane SP regen especially with magnificat. However, pressure also can cause bleeding status, which stops SP regen. If you’re ever in a dangerous position where your SP is low and you’re bleeding, and they’re spamming bolts at you, that’s where the TGTB comes in. Otherwise, don’t bother with it.
Wizards
Difficulty: 5/5*
Equipment Note: Wear 5 gibblets, and the last slot can be anti-silence, anti-stun or BKC. Raggamuffin manteau, 2 megs are a must. Switch between the two silk robes.
Comments: This is an interesting match-up. The wizard has insane advantage over the priest IF the priest doesn’t have a +10 emperor set. However, if the priest DOES have a +10 emp set, then the tables are turned completely and advantage goes to priest (even if the wizard also has a +10 emp set).
Therefore we will discuss the match in two ways:
If you have +10 emp set: The emp set gives a huge amount of defense, HP, and mdef. With +10 emp set and 2 megs, a priest can easily get enough defense to shrug off Magic Crashers with decent amount of armor swapping, and instead focus entirely on surviving the magic attacks. Use dustiness (-wind) garment, and swap between water-element armor and ghost-element armor. The biggest advantage of this is: you can afford to be more offensive since, due to not fearing magic crasher so much, you can actually use TGTB and attack the priest much more often.
The basic strategy when you have +10 emp set is simple. Keep TGTB on most of the time, and just armor switch against the wizard while tanking those MC (which will be doing puny damage if you armor switch properly, due to your high defense. Just go up to the wizard and hit him with your Book of Life or Holy Flail, occasionally using pnuema or flash-heal, until the wizard is dead. Use decrease-agi on the wizard to either force him to use TGTB or take the speed reduction.
If you do not have +10 emp set: Prepare for a difficult match where one slip-up (and sometimes even if you don’t slip up) means you die. In order to fight a wizard without emp set, you need to stack up your magic defense (mdef) using the right equips:
10 mdef from helm
10 mdef from ragamuffin
10 mdef from sleips
14 mdef from 2 megs
10 mdef from silk robe
25 mdef from gibbet cards
Total: 79 mdef, which should be enough to allow a BP to out-heal any bolts they throw your way. This gives you the freedom to keep cranial shield on most of the time, which is the only way you have a chance to out-tank the magic crashers. Note, that since you’re stacking mdef and not def, you’ll want to keep cranial shield on most of the time.
One trick to fighting wizards is to bait it. Stay on the border of the wiz’s bolt range and heal-glide away from the wizard to try to get him to use magic on you, which you will reflect back to him. You won’t die to magic spam with 79mdef, so the only thing you have to worry about are magic crashers. Everything the wizard tries to use bolts, he’ll take some damage while you heal it off, so it’ll help shave off some much-needed HP off the wiz. When wizard starts to only MC you, that’s when you try to Kyrie-glide your way in while switching armors (kyrie is to avoid MC from impairing your movement). The natural response for the wizard is to use storm gust or JT to force you away. Try to guess which one. If he uses storm gust, then use TGTB and then nail him with a few crits from your long mace. If he uses JT, he risks the damage being reflected back to him. Keep chipping away at him and if you last long enough, you’ll win since he isn’t healing.
One recent popular trend among wizards is to use Frost-Diver and Magic Crasher spam. If this happens, just switch to reflect (maya) shield. They’ll reflect FD back to themselves and therefore freeze themselves. This gives you a nice little breather to heal yourself up, redo your buffs, and then poison the wiz.
Pnuema often. Very often. Pneuma blocks Magic Crasher, which will be the main danger. Wizards do have a skill that eliminates pnuema called Ganbantein, but it’s still worth using pnuema since it takes less time for your to set up pnuema than it does for him to get rid of it. One strategy you might entertain is simply to stall the wizard with armor switching and pnuema repeatedly to waste him of all his gemstones, since Ganbantein uses up all three, but this isn’t an ideal strategy.
If the wizard uses gravitational field, don’t panic. Just put up a pnuema and sit in it with reflect shield. The wiz can’t use ganbantein to get rid of your pnuema because that’ll get rid of the gravitational field as well. Note if the wizard takes damage, gravitational field is canceled, so this means if he spams magic on you, you’ll reflect some damage back and cancel the gravity field. If he uses Storm Gust, then it’ll knock you out of pnuema, but it’ll also probably knock you out of gravitational field, so you can just walk away and heal yourself while the wizard is stuck since he can’t move while using GF. If the wizard uses quagmire, same story. Put up pneuma and camp until he uses ganbantein or knocks you out himself.
Just like against LK’s, long mace will be extremely useful since you really can’t hope to get too close to the wizard. Also, you really don’t want to be point-blank range with the wizard, because there’s always the off-chance that they’ll stone curse you, which can really REALLY screw you over.
Professors
Difficulty: 4/5
Equipment Note: Keep TGTB on most of the time, flashing to maya shield occasionally only. Greatest General Card and 1 lust, switching to 2 lusts once you get at least 1 sphere with GG card.
Comments: This can be either very easy or very hard, depending on the level of the prof. The idea is to outcrit the prof. A competent prof will, for all intents and purposes, NOT let you use any skills the entire time using a comination of soul burn and killer mantis armor. They’ll also most likely dispel you the instant you take off TGTB. Therefore, the goal is to try and win using very little active skills.
Let’s evaluate the advantages of profs vs priests
Priests: have assumptio, Gloria (30 more luk), and can occasionally flash-heal.
Profs: can use cranial shield, has access to counter knife, most likely cannot armor switch much since they’re stuck on killer mantis, can use safety wall to gain critting advantage.
Try to break away from the prof using your superior speed. Once you’re at a safe distance, you can start heal-gliding away from the prof, who’s still probably chasing you. Breaking away from a prof isn’t easy, though, because the prof has access to a skill called spiderweb, which will immobilize you to a cell, and it’s quite spammable. Don’t heal IN the range of the prof otherwise you’ll get dispelled and then magic spammed on.
In the end, the idea is to attack the prof as often as possible, and force the prof to spam spiderweb and safety wall often. Use the fact that you have more liberty in armor switching to your advantage. Finally, keep looking to break away from the prof and to heal yourself.
I’ll leave you to figure out what the purpose of the greatest general cards is.
Survive, approach, kill. That’s how a battle priest rolls.

XILE-RO PROFESSOR PvP GUIDE
XILE-RO PROFESSOR PvP GUIDE
by: Jay
Introduction Professor is a deadly chars that could rock everyone when you’re able to master it. In every high-rate server, especially in the Ygg-able PVP, they’re deemed to be very useless. However, they could be very useful in hindering enemies or even supporting your mates. In RO, there might be only 3 kinds of professor that you would see. One is with high INT, where people often called Bolt Prof. This is a very common one, normally used in PVP and MVP. The other one would be Battle Prof. This type boast in high ATK and CRIT, but hopeless in almost every actual battle where they needs to do support role. Neither one will be Hybrid, which isn’t the most powerful, yet not the weakest of all of them. People often overlook the possibilities that professor can fight almost on par with anyone else. This char often be a good choice to get overkills for enemies who does not have high MDEF (compared to GTB or TGTB users), and yet, when the enemies has high MDEF, most of them would run. They actually seem underpowered, unless they have someone to back the professor. Professor would have a lot of hand in handling elements. They govern Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Neutral, Shadow, and not the least, Poison (on 3rd jobs though). In order to deal considerable amount of damage, a professor must be able to see the enemies’ movement, counter with opposite element, and strike without hesitation.
Equipments I would only say that you will need considerable MATK which range around 4-6k. Whichever equip will be good, and in this guide, I will only cover Sapphire Traveller Set, which I have been using for almost the time I spent. Somewhat, there will be only some uber equipments used in this guide.
Weapons Godly Legacy of Dragon [2 Hydra, 2 Civil] Godly Legacy of Dragon [2 Hydra, 2 Skel-Work] Godly Legacy of Dragon [2 Hydra, 2 Minorous] Godly Staff of Ages [4 MFC] Legacy of Dragon [2 Marina, 2 Plankton] Legacy of Dragon [2 Requiem, 2 Magnolia] Legacy of Dragon [1 Familiar, 2 Savage Babe, 1 Snake] Grimtooth Counter Knife Fortune Knife
Shield Guard [Thara Frog Card] Guard [True Golden Thief Bug Card]
Helm 1) Sapphire Traveler Hat [4] 2) Sapphire Blindfold [1] 3) Sapphire Physics Wing [1] Cover them with BKC, Orc Hero, or ESL. Whatever your choice, always put your anti-status on either wing or middle parts
Armor You almost will use only 2 elements, depending on use - Ghost Element - Holy Element
Garment You’ll need several slotted mufflers, highly refined, with raydric card, or even resistance card
Shoes Boots of Guidance, preferred refined to +9/+10 slotted with Antique Firelock Card
Accessories Hercule Belt x2 Ancient Earrings (Endless Faiths)x2 Rage Amulet x2 (if possible)
The build Str: ~230 Agi: 195 with Grimtooth Dex: Enough for no cast, no need for HIT Int: Ranged MATK from 4-6k Vit: 100 Luk: Whatever left
My policy for every status is always having 100 vit. You could change it if you want, depending on situations, but I find it suffice for every battles.
The importance of Weapon and Armor Switching. To play this char, you will only need 2 armors, as stated above. If you're able to swap fast, you will win almost every battle.
General Tips and Tricks Web-Spin: Predict enemies' movements, spinning web with precision and hinder their movement. Would not be as effective for Champions, Assassins, or Stalkers. Flee does not matters, as your enemies will have -50% flee if they are caught.
Earth Dance: Cast Stone Curse for enemies in your range.
Burning Storm: Combination of Web-Spin and Firebolt. Creating double fire damage and hindering enemies' movement at once.
Firelord: Combination of Web-spin, Earth Dance, and Volcano. Makes you do almost 300% extra damage to enemies when you use fire elemented attack. Useful when high damaging chars are helping.
Misty Field: Throw out Fog to make misty field around you. Makes you almost missing to every attacks. Under this skill, you will receive only 25% damage from ranged normal attacks, -25% from all skills, and a bonus of enemies blinds, when they're entering this field.
Glide Bolt: While enemies are fleeing and not using any TGTB, you might want to bolt them, hindering their movement. Almost useless, but quite good if you want to stun-lock them
Earthquake: Reveal your enemies with your Heaven's Drive, does not work on TGTB. Combine this with Gliding would help you a lot.
Element Master: Combine Endow with your field, Volcano, Whirlwind, or Deluge, creating massive damage under your command.
Dispel-Bolt: Combination of spamming Dispel and Bolts together. Good on non TGTB high DPS chars.

XILE-RO SNIPER PVP GUIDE
XILE-RO SNIPER PVP GUIDE
by: HenHen
Introduction
Since the recent update, the Sniper has become one of the strongest class.
However, since Snipers actually owning is relatively new for most people, I
think now's a good time to write my first guide ever.
This is not a guide for beginners. You need basic understanding of the game
and the server. I will try to be as complete as possible but don't expect me
to spell everything out for you.
Why am I doing this: The server needs new pro's to replace the ones that are
quitting. I hope this guide can inspire some people to new heights. Also, I
suppose I want to reward english-speaking people while penalizing those who
can't, because you do need to be able to read english to understand all the
goodies I'm giving out.
Without further ado, Leech Away...
Equipments
Headgear
- Maya Purple Card for Assassins and Stalkers
- Anti-Status (the actual statuses you need protecting against depends on
which job you are fighting)
- Fill the rest of the slots with BKCs.
- Optional: LKH/BH/EQW filled with 4 Leib Olmai cards
- Optional: LKH/BH/EQW filled with Marduk, Evil Snake Lord, Nightmare, and Maya Purple
Usage Explanation: For the most part, quite self-explanatory. Leib Olmai cards are useful to fight Champions. The anti-status LKH is useful against stalkers. I expect you to have multiple lower headgears (multple wings) and middle headgears willed with anti-status and/or maya purple to mix and match depending on your opponent.
Armor
- If you don't have a set, then slotted tights would be preferable. The next
best thing would be a glittering jacket, but I don't like how heavy it
weights. You also need slotted versions of all the elemental armors.
I will lay-out what type of armor you should use against every job.
Common sense will tell you there is no way to carry every single armor I list on you at once. Keep the ones you don't need in storage and take them out when you need it.
Lord Knight:
Option 1) Use slotted fire armors. One should be slotted with a peco peco
card, the other should be slotted with a Ghostring card.
Option 2) If you have a set and have several armors, use Pasana Card and
Ghostring card.
Option 3) You can probably get away with wearing Nightmare Terror Card
against an enemy that does not have ESL card.
Paladin:
Option 1) If your enemy is an int/vit-type paladin, use two water armor
slotted with Orc Lord Card (reflect 30% damage from Sacrifice) or Marc card
(prevents them from freezing you with shield boomerang and also reduce 5%
water damage). The other water armor should be slotted with Ghostring card for easy switching.
Option 2) If your enemy is str-type paladin, use tights. One should be
slotted with Angelring Card (when they occasionally get within Holy Cross
range) and the other should be slotted with Ghostring card.
Option 3) If your enemy is a hybrid paladin, switch between Water armor [Orc Lord Card] and Water armor [Ghostring Card]. Alternatively, you can also switch between Holy armor and Ghost armor, but don't do all three as you will need to devote more attention to offense than defense.
Sniper:
Get whatever type of armor you want. For this matchup, don't worry too much
about the weight problem, and just focus on maximizing your defense. You
will need 3 different armors. It gets a bit confusing to explain so I will
just give an example. Try to follow this format.
Armor 1) +10 Valk armor (but it can be anything) slotted with Ghostring card
Armor 2) +10 valk armor (or anything else, as long as it's the same kind as armor 1) slotted with Nightmare terror card OR Killer Mantis Card
Armor 3) +10 Tight (or anything else, as long as it is different from Armor
1 and 2) slotted with Pecopeco card.
Clown:
Any high-defense armor slotted with Marc Card. No fancy options here.
Gypsy:
Any high-defense armor slotted with Peco Peco Card
Creator:
Armor 1) Valkyrie Armor slotted with Ghostring card
Armor 2) Something else slotted with Ghostring card (Example: tight)
Armor 3) Another thing slotted with Ghostring card (Example: glittering
jacket)
.. etc
Assassin Cross:
Option 1)
Armor 1) Fire Armor slotted with Marc Card
Armor 2) Fire Armor slotted with Ghostring Card
Armor 3) Fire Armor slotted with Evil Druid Card
Armor 4) Different armor slotted with Orc Lord Card
Bolt/Int SinX (they still exist, and bolt will own a sniper if you don't prepare for it)
Use Water Armor slotted with PecoPeco card or Marc Card. [ Note: Also remember to use Flameguard (Jakk Card) Manteau ]
Stalker
Pure Bow Stalker
High defense armor slotted with Marc Card will do.
Keep a ghostring armor and a few other spare armors hotkeyed just in case they copy Sacrifice or Acid Terror.
Magic Stalker / Hybrid Stalkers
There are 5 different elements they can copy [Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, and Ghost]
Option 1) Counter whichever skill they copy. If they use fire or earth magic, use fire armor. If they use lightning magic, use wind armor. If they use water/ice skills, use water armor. If they use ghost magic, use neutral armor. Just make sure to stick a marc card in all those armors. [Note: For manteau, use -30% elemental cards such as Jakk and Marse. Use the garment card to compensate for whichever element your armor is WEAK to, because some hybrid stalkers will use elemental arrows. For example, don't be stupid and use Fire armor + Flameguard to counter fire-bolt because it is pointless as you can out-damage them anyways.]
Pure Magic Stalkers
By pure magic stalkers, I am referring to stalkers that will copy a magic skill, and also use lvl 3 bolts from ice falchion and fireblend. You should be able to out-damage them by using elemental armor [Marc] to counter their copied skill and swap between Muffler [Jakk] and Muffler [Marse] to counter fireblend and ice falchion.
Wizard
Armor 1) Silk Robe (adds 10 mdef) slotted with Angelring Card
Armor 2) Any armor (preferably Glittering Jacket since it also adds 5 mdef) slotted with Ghostring Card. As much defense as possible
Armor 3) Any armor (same as Armor 2) slotted with Pasana Card. As much defense as possible
Armor 4) A shadow armor (bathory card). Just in case.
Professor
Silk robe slotted with Angelring card
Priest
Any armor slotted with Angelring card. [Note: combine with muffler slotted with Isis card]
Champion
Armor 1) Fire armor slotted with Ghostring card. Try to get a highly upgraded Fire Armor
Armor 2) Fire armor slotted with Orc Lord card. Try to get a highly upgraded Fire Armor

Weapon 1) Soul Seeker slotted with 3 hydra cards and 1 skeleton worker cards
Weapon 2) Soul Seeker slotted with 2 hydra cards and 2 civil servant cards
Weapon 3) Seeker slotted with 4 Monkey Fist Cards
Weapon 4) Composite Bow slotted with 4 Marina Cards (Freeze)
Weapon 5) Composite Bow slotted with 4 Magnolia Cards (Curse)
Weapon 6) Bow slotted with 4 Plankton Cards (Sleep)
Weapon 7) Bow slotted with 4 Requiem Cards (Chaos)
Weapon 8) Bow slotted with 4 Familiar Cards (Blind)
Weapon 9) Bow slotted with 4 Metaller Cards (Silence)
Weapon 10) Lords Knife slotted with 4 MFC.
Weapon 11) Rudra's Bow
Weaopn 11) Optional: Seeker slotted with 3 Hydra Cards and 1 Golem Card
[Note: You don't keep all the bows on you at the same time. Select your weapons depending on what class you are fighting, and keep the rest in storage
Usage Explanation:
Whether you use Weapon 1 or Weapon 2 depends on how good your opponent is at armor switching (GR armor / non-GR armor). If they are good at switching, stick with bow 1. If they don't switch or switch slow, use weapon 2. Falcon Assault is extremely deadly to non-GR users, so you can generally take advantage of the extra damage from Civil Servant cards.
Weapon 3 is used to launch traps into your enemies (traps do not get affected by damage modifiers)
Generally, status bows are only used to reduce the enemy's BKC count by 1. Believe me it is not a waste of time. By forcing them to wear anti-status against several crippling statuses, you can reduce their overall stats significantly.
The two most useful statuses are Freeze and Curse. Not everyone has ESL, and curse is generally a crippling status for any job, especially when fighting a sniper. Freeze takes some practice to inflict but it is not easy to negate because Falcon Assault keeps them from wearing Unfrozen armor.
Rudra's Bow? Is that a joke? Actually no. It gives level 1 heal and level 1 cure. Level 1 cure is a nice way to cure party members of silence as well as cure confusion and blind on yourself. Heal level 1 guarantees a victory against a high priest (well, almost anyways). You can subsitute a healing clip, but I prefer rudra bow since it also does cure.
Sheild
Guard [Thara Frog]
Guard [GTB / Maya if you don't have GTB]
Usage Explanation:
When using falcon assault, Quad Celestial Lords Knife + Guard is better than bow. Use a shield at your own discretion depending on whether you think the shield worth the 1 or 2 seconds it take to swap equipment (keeping in mind the enemy could have switched equpment already in that brief period).
Wearing GTB + LK and using exclusively Falcon Assault against a wizard should give you an easy win. Not so sure about professors.
Garment
Muffler [Raydric] reduce 20% neutral damage
Muffler [Jakk] reduce 30% fire damage
Muffler [Marse] reduce 30% water damage
Muffler [Dustiness] reduce 30% wind damage
Muffer [Isis] reduce 30% shadow damage
Muffer [Marionette] reduce 30% ghost damage
Muffler [Myst] reduce 30% poison damage
Muffler [Frilladora Card] gives level 1 cloak
Ragamuffin Manteau adds 10 mdef
Usage Explanation:
Raydric, Jakk, Marse, Dustiness, Myst, marionette and Isis are no-brainers. Frilladora card can be useful in forcing the opponent to wear Maya Purple, thereby knocking off another BKC. Ragamuffin adds 10mdef - use it for wizards and professors as you cannot guess what element they will be using.
Shoes
Boots of Guidance if you use the donation sets. Otherwise,
Slepinir
+10 Valkyrie Boots [Matyr or Moonlight Flower Card]
Usage Explanation:
Unless you are desperately in need of defense, stick with slepinir. Slepinir and +10 Valkyrie boots can be used together for the best effect using a technique called HP-padding (See below)
Accessories
2 x Ancient Rosaries slotted with 2 Exile cards
1 x Ancient Earring slotted with Faith card
2 x Ancient Brooch slotted with 2 Envy cards
1 x Clip Slotted with Marine Sphere card [Keep in storage except for fighting Support Priests]
1 x Clip Slotted with Horong card
1 x Ancient ring (or whatever) slotted with Smokies card
Usage Explanation: Ancient Rosaries > Ancient gloves because of the extra 6 mdef. The faith can be switched to for extra trap damage. The envy cards are occasionally used to outflee your opponent. You should always have a Sight Clip on hand (which will take up 3 hotkeys, but I deem it a necessary expense). Smokies card is for hide, which you will sometimes need to use during matches if your opponent surprises you with an unexpected build, to give you a little bit of time to prepare a different setup. Full support priests require the use of Magnum break to kill (to knock them out of pneuma).
STAT BUILD
I am not going to give you an exact build. This is just ballpark figures of what your stats should look like. Like Fractyl, I prefer having a single, versatile build rather than having to switch builds to fight different opponents.
Str: 10
Agi: 195 aspd with 4 slotted bow and only 2 BKC. Then add 12 more agility to counter
balance decrease agility. Add dex first, however.
Vit: 100
Int: 150
Dex: 230
Luk: 150
Any leftover stat points can be added where-ever you want. Just remember that your Vit and Dex should be in multiples of 10 with soul seeker.
Against some enemies it is best to drop your BKC count to 2 so you can use a lot of anti-status cards. It is also necessary to allow one to wear 4 Leib Olmai card in the upper headgear against Champs. The extra flee from having to pad your agility isn't bad either.
General Tactics and Tricks
- HP-padding. HP padding refers to using an item that increases your maximum HP (Peco Peco card, Greed Card, Slepinir) and then swapping it out for something more useful once your current HP drops below the bonus given by the item.
Example: With slepinir my maximum HP is 180k, and with +10 Valkyrie Shoe my maximum HP is 150k. When I enter a duel, I fight for a bit with Slepinir first, and once my HP drops below 150k I switch to +10 Valk Shoes.
- Delay-cancel. There are some skills in RO that has a very long after-delay, but sometimes the delay can be canceled (like in a fighting game, lol). The only sniper skill that can be canceled, as far as I know, is arrow shower. How does it work? Simple. Right after you use arrow shower, immediately use a different non-targettable skill. I personally use First Aid or True Sight. This is very useful for stacking and moving traps.
- Fast Trap-Stack. Nothing special. Stack 3 traps in front of you, 1 cell apart from each other and use arrow-shower delay cancel to stack them.
- Fast Trap-Spread. Sometimes it is important to scatter your traps all over the ground. The slow way to do it would be to place them down 1 by 1. A better way is to lay 4 traps next to you, and then arrow shower on the spot where you stand. For good measure, you can get out of the trap barrier without too much hassle by skidding yourself.
-Armor reading. Not really much of a trick. Just pay attention to the amount of damage you inflict. The advantage of using immaterial arrow and/or Civil Servant cards is that you can easily tell from your damage if he is wearing Ghostring armor. As soon as your damage becomes unusually low, start spamming falcon assault on him. It hurts, a lot.
- Burning Arrow. Use magnum break combined with status arrows. Usually status arrows are neutral type, which ****s because the enemy is probably wearing Ghostring anyways. If you use magnum break, your attack will become fire-type, which is awesome if you want to use status while still dealing maximum damage with your damage-mod cards. The chance of inflicting status ****s (5% or less from my experience) but what do you have to lose?
Useful Traps
Skid Trap: used in True Backslide and H walk
Landmine: Earth element. Hits enemies in Hide. Can stun. I stack this trap a lot because it does good damage and unlike blast mine, stays on the ground for quite a while.
Blast Mine: Wind element. Does the most damage out of all the traps, but explodes after 5 seconds or so. The description says it is fire element, but it's actually wind. That's good, because frozen enemies take additional damage.
Ankle Snare: Used mostly against stalkers, assassins, and priests.
Shockwave Trap: devastating when used properly. Combine with poison or bleeding to stop SP regeneration. Pharaoh cards counter this, but in that case they lose 4 headgear slots, leaving them with 40 less stats and only 1 or 2 slots left for anti-status. Take advantage of it.
Freeze Trap: Rarely use it, but it is water element, so it does extra damage against enemies who wear Fire armor to counter Landmine.
Sandman: You might not have enough points to get this, but I will mention it anyways because 70% chance to inflict sleep is very good.

XILE-RO ASSASSIN CROSS PVP GUIDE
XILE-RO ASSASSIN CROSS PVP GUIDE
by: HenHen
Introduction
Assassins are cool; I don’t think many people would argue that. In fact, I’m sure they’re one of the more common “starting characters” on any RO server. One of the interesting things about XileRO is that, unlike 99% of the RO servers out there, assassins aren’t overpowered in PvP here. In fact, if anything, they’re somewhat underpowered.
This isn’t a bad thing, though. In fact, it just makes assassins much more fun to play. However, for those of you who are expecting assassins to be a good choice for getting easy-kills, sorry but you better look elsewhere (perhaps Lord Knight or Creator would be more up your alley). Assassins require an insane amount of finesse to play, and only good players are capable of making an assassin shine. In the hands of someone who can bring out the true potential of an assassin, however, it is a force to be reckoned with.
In order to be successful with an assassin, you must take full advantage of its one strength – dealing damage quickly. This means that you need be strike fast without hesitation. This comes naturally with experience. Because assassins don’t many opportunities to do damage, but does damage in large chunks, it means that the difference between a fast assassin player and a slow assassin player is huge (i.e. you’ll either do a lot of damage or no damage)
The assassin that is more or less a full-bloody roar build, with equipment slotted to allow me doing adequate crits against people with no luk. There are many assassin builds out there, but this build is definitely the all-around best build possible.
Equipments
Weapons
Bloody Roar
Bloody Roar
Talefing [Marina Card x 4]
Talefing [Marina Card x 4]
Lord’s Knife [1 Magnolia Card 1 Metaller 2 Hydra Card]
Lord’s Knife [2 Savage Bebe Card 2 Hydra Card]
Oblivion Blade [4 assaulter]
Oblivion Blade [4 hydra]*
Phoenix Wing [4 Monkey Fist Cards]
Phoenix Wing [1 Monkey Fist Cards 3 Phreeoni Card]**
Xecutioner [2 Hydra 2 Assaulter]
Xecutioner [2 Hydra 1 Phreeoni Card]**
Katar of Chaos [2 Hydra, 2 Drainilar]
Ice-element Katar
Assassin Dagger
A couple of unbreakable weapons in storage.
* Replace some hydras with monkey fist cards if you can’t reach 195 aspd.
** These are used for flee-type enemies you can’t hit otherwise
Shield
Buckler [Thara Frog Card]
3) Omega wings [1] / Shadowcraft wings [1]
Str, Dex and Vit are all most important stats to a SinX, so Omega Wings (5 int/luk/agi, 15 str/dex/vit) is your best choice.
Cards you will need
- Bloody Knight Cards (as many as you need)
- Evil Snake Lord Card x 1 (anti curse/blind)
- Orc Hero Card x 1 (anti stun)
- Marduk Card x 1 (anti silence)
- Nightmare Card x 1 (anti sleep)
- Maya Purple Card x 1
- Pharaoh Cards x 4
You need to keep Maya Purple Card on yourself at all times, even against enemies that don’t hide. This is because you need to “see” yourself when you’re cloaked in order to be able to enchant yourself without having to uncloak first.
If you have a Guild Set or NPC Set, then use the appropriate set pieces instead.
Armor
You can get any type of armor you see fit, just make sure you have an armor with
- Ghost Element
- Fire Element
- Undead Element
- Holy Element (keep in storage)
- Water Element
- Unfrozen
- Wind Element
- Unbreakable armor (cornutus card)
Use the same type of armor for two of the above for easier swapping, but do not use the same armor for more than two, as it makes armor switching too inefficient that way.
Garment
You’ll need several slotted manteaus, refined as highly as possible, carded with:
- Raydric Card (-20% neutral damage)
- Jakk Card (-30% fire damage)
- Dustiness Card (-30% wind damage)
- Isis Card (-30% shadow damage)
- Mars Card (-30% water damage)
- Hode Card (-30% earth damage)
- Marionette Card (-30% ghost damage)
Shoes
Sleipinir or Boots of Guidance if you’re using a set
Accessories
Clip [Marine Sphere Card]
Megingjordes x 2
Rosary [Greed Card] x 1
The build: There is a large degree of flexibility in one’s build. This is just a rough
outline.
Str: ~220
Agi: Enough for at least 192 aspd with 2 BKC* while using bloody roar
Dex: Enough for ~500 “hit” with bloody roar
Int: 1
Luk: between 1 and 50 (enough for decent crit with katar)
Vit: Whatever’s left
You don’t really need 195 aspd if you’re spamming skills, so if you only have 192 aspd while sporting only 2 BKC, that’s fine. You’ll still end up having 195 aspd when you use more than 2 BKC, which is most of the time.
The importance of Weapon and Armor Switching
Playing assassin cross against an expert opponent is all about armor switching and weapon switching. The three main element at your disposal are:
- Neutral
- Fire (from magnum break)
- Poison (from enchant poison)
Make good use of your ability to use THREE elements to your advantage. Try to enchant yourself outside of your enemy’s field of vision so that he has to guess which element you’re using. There are some tricks below as well to help you improve the efficiency of your weapon switching.
General Tips and Tricks
Sonic dance: The most important technique you’ll learn as an assassin cross. Sonic blow’s delay is really long, but if you sonic blow, then click somewhere to move, then sonic blow again, some of the delay will be reduced. This is a life saver.
Breaker + Throw Sand Spam: Breaker’s damage isn’t all that great, but if you spam breaker and then throw sand alternating with one another, you’ll increase your overall damage per second somewhat.
The “cloak” cancel: Cloak cancels into many skills, including magnum break, enchant poison, meteor assault, backslide. Just get into the habit of using cloak whenever possible, because it helps you reduce the damage you take.
Flash-enchant: Enchant poison has almost no animation, but the words above the assassin is a dead give away. That’s why it’s generally in the sinX’s best interest to use a second skill to cancel out the word above your head as soon as you enchant yourself. Backslide tends to be a great choice, but meteor assault + cloak can work as well. Remember, if the enemy doesn’t see your enchant, it’ll be harder for him to counter
Fakeout: If you use magnum break, and then enchant poison, it’ll look like you’re using enchant poison while you actually still have fire element. This is because enchant poison cannot override magnum break. This is just another gimmick to throw armor switchers off their game.
Freeze-lock: Freeze someone with 8 Marina cards + Throw sand, poison them with venom dust and then wait it out. Before they unfreeze, use venom splasher on them and then hit them with a breaker and then backslide out of there. When venom splasher hits, there’s a good chance they’ll get frozen again, and you won’t need to stand there trying to freeze while taking damage. There are some LK’s out there that knows how frustrating it is to get frozen 5 times in a row with this trick, effectively losing 80% of their HP without getting to do a thing to me.
FRZ-PSN-EDP: A very useful routine. Freeze someone with marina cards and throw sand, venom dust them to shave off some HP, and then switch to the 2 drainilar 2 hydra Katar. When they’re frozen, the enemy is water element, so the 2 hydra 2 drainilar weapon will do full damage. Also, considering the enemy is frozen, their defense will be reduced, which further helps boost the damage. This is one of the few times where damage-mod cards can outdamage bloody roar.
Forward backslide: Instead of backsliding away from the enemy, why not do the opposite and make use of backslide’s mobility to help you approach enemies? All you have to do is turn around to face away from the enemy before you backslide. Very useful.
Backslide-Run-Turn-Backslide: This is a technique you can use to outrun just about anything (barring a true-backsliding Sniper or snapping champ). You can do this forward offensively, or backward defensively. You can outrun champions and priests doing this, even when you’re decrease agi’ed. This is what you do: backslide, then right as you land on your new cell, click on a cell further away (in the same direction you were backsliding to), this will let you cancel backslide delay. Walk a couple of cells, then turn around and backslide again.
To clarify: backslide, move-cancel the backslide delay, walk a couple of cells, turn around and backslide again.
The whole point of moving is to allow you to not “waste time” during backslide’s cooldown, and it makes the critical difference as to whether you can outrun certain things.
The controversy of using EDP
This is more like a disclaimer. From time to time, you’ll have some people you fight call you “EDP noob” because you used EDP to kill them. When this happens, the logical retort is to tell those idiots to go **** a banana.
Enchant deadly poison is the only way of giving assassins a fighting chance against practically every class. Breaker is an okay skill, but it gets outdamaged by almost everything other classes have. Enchant deadly poison isn’t cheap. In order to make good use of it, you need to get close enough to the other guy to hit them in the first place, which isn’t an easy thing to do. Therefore, I am telling you right now: it’s okay to use EDP, and if anyone tells you otherwise, I suggest you screenshoot it and then post it on this thread so I can personally tell that guy to kiss my ass.
PvP Tactics
Moving on to the heart of the guide, which is the battle tactics against individual classes. Note that this guide cannot possibly cover all the scenarios in combat, it can only give you a rough foundation on which to build upon. Know that the actual battle tactics are
much more intricate and rely on your personal experience more than anything else.
Remember, there are no “easy” match-up for an assassin cross. The easiest matchup is probably a whitesmith, and even they can easily destroy you if you aren't good enough.
Lord Knight
Difficulty: 5/5
Comments: Very hard to win, but not impossible. In order to beat a Lord Knight, you need to be very good at weapon and armor switching, and also at moving around.
Lord Knights will just use sight and then spiral pierce you to death. Spiral pierce has really bad stunlock, so don’t even try to move around once you’ve been hit by spiraled. Instead, rely on backslide to move.
Spiral pierce > Breaker, so don’t try to go head to head against the LK with your breaker.
HP stacking from 8 MFC will be invaluable against the LK. Start the match by breaker-ing the LK once or twice, which should shave off at least 20k damage from the LK, then backslide out of there and switch to bloody roar. Because you started the fight with 8 MFC, that’s like having 80 more vit that you got for free. You need all the advantage you can get here.
The trick is to bait the LK and then backslide INTO the Lord Knight, then sonic blow. If you’re lucky, you’ll land a sonic blow, maybe two if you’re using sonic dance technique. The LK will respond by magnum break or bowling bash to knock you back. If the LK uses bowling bash, don’t attempt to force you way back in, instead backslide out of there and then bait him again. If the LK uses magnum break, then what you should do depends on whether he cancels his MB. If he doesn’t cancel his magnum break, then go in and sonic blow him again. If he cancelled his MB, then backslide away and bait him again.
Freeze is a very useful status against the LK as well since LK’s have very low luk, making them easy to freeze with 8 marina cards. Of course, you cannot freeze a Lord Knight if they have undead armor on, so what you want to do is magnum break and breaker once or twice to force him off undead armor, and then quickly switch to 8 marina cards and freeze him with throw sand. Once he’s frozen, try to freeze lock him.
You definitely need anti-stun, because the last thing you want, after working so hard to get close to the LK, is to be killed by bash spam.
Paladin
Difficulty: 5/5
Comments: Another hard one. I can safely say, no matter how good you are at a sinX, against a great paladin your chance of winning borderlines 0%.
There’s just nothing you can really do. Pressure destroys attempts at breaker spam (though if you curse the paladin, their pressure won’t drain SP anymore; you still can’t outdamage his heal with breaker though). 70% reflect and more than double your HP > any attempt at melee, and they’ve got heal, bolts, smite, and freeze/sac on their side as well.
Try to freeze-lock the paladin to shave off HP. If you weaken him enough, then maybe you can kill him with sonic blow. However, while you’re trying to weaken him, he’s going to be weakening you as well, and he’s much better at it.
That water armor comes in handy here, since he’s going to be using fire and cold bolts on you, most likely. Beware of sacrifice, though. If he’s an str-based paladin, then adjust your armor switching accordingly.
Also, don’t enchant EDP until you’ve weakened the paladin enough already.
If you can’t freeze the paladin for some reason, it could be because the paladin is wearing unfrozen armor. However, this means that he’s ditching orc lord armor (30% reflect), so try to kill him directly.
Wizards
Difficulty: 4/5
Comment: Not the hardest class to kill, but unless you have a +10 NPC set on your hand, you’ll have some trouble dealing with the magic crashers.
Best way to deal with wizard is to armor swap to counter magic crasher while wearing a TGTB. Wizards have low luk, so you can try freezing them with throw sand, which should end things right there (use freeze-psn-EDP). If the wizard puts up a safety wall, then freeze him with crits instead of throw sand, because you won’t break the ice that way and it’s much quicker.
If the wizard uses gravitational field, backslide towards the wizard. The wizard cannot move when he uses gravity, so take advantage of that.
Overall, the key is fast armor switching. If you are too slow, then you’ll die before you hit the wizard.
If the wizard ****s, then you can probably get away with just using breaker while sporting a TGTB, and armor switch against the magic crasher. However, you won’t win like this if the wizard is equally good at armor switching. Against a competent wizard, you’ll really need to rely on EDP to score the win.
If you’re hitting the wizard and you can predict he’s going to put up safety wall, the best thing to do in that case is put on your second weapon (thus ditching TGTB). With one weapon, you can’t break safety wall before he can put up a new one, but with two weapons, you can. He can’t storm gust you during the safety wall delay, and if he tries to cancel the delay by moving, he’ll be moving himself out of SW. Be quick about re-equipping TGTB, though, if he’s not dead already.
Professor
Difficulty: 4/5
Comment: There are two kinds of prof. There’s the common prof that you’ll be able to kill with just EDP-crit while wearing TGTB, occasionally switching to two weapon to catch them offguard. These Profs are easy, and if all Profs were like that, the difficulty would be a 1/5 at best.
However, there’s the second kind of prof, the ones that actually know how to play the prof. These profs not only will constantly spider web you, but they also know that once they soul burn you, you will NOT be regen-ing SP. This is quite dangerous because this makes it supremely easy for them to armor switch on you – all they need to do is wear undead or fire armor to counter your primary element, then switch to GR when you switch back to neutral element. You won’t be able to re-enchant yourself anymore. The ice katar is quite useful here, because he might not expect it, and not react in time to use magic on you, and you’d be able to score some nice crits.
When starting a fight with prof, you should avoid EDP from the start. Instead, run around next to him, harassing him with breaker and backslide everytime he spiderwebs you. He’ll eventually have to soul burn you to get rid of your SP, so that you can’t backslide out of webs anymore. When he soul burns you, just be patient and wait for your SP to regen, then backslide again. He’ll have to soul burn you again and again to get you. The goal here is to get his soul burn to fail, so keep attempting to run until his soul burn fails. You want his soul burn to fail because it’ll drain him of his SP, which will probably do around 20k damage to him right off the bat and more importantly, gets rid of his energy coat. With energy coat, you’ll do puny damage against the prof. Without energy coat, the prof becomes easier to kill.
If the prof puts up safety wall (and he probably will), first thing you should try is to freeze him via crits. However, if he puts up safety wall AND wall of fog, then don’t try to freeze him. It won’t be very effective because you won’t land that many hits (prof’s high luk prevents critical hits, and wall of fog blinds you so it prevents non-critical hits). One weakness of him putting up wall of fog is he won’t be able to bolt you easily, so you can crit him with the ice katar with less worries (still need to worry about AoE though).
Holy armor and undead armor are useful against a prof, though it might not be enough. How much you can armor switch against a prof depends on your own skills.

Xecutioner [2 Hydra 1 Phreeoni Card]**
Katar of Chaos [2 Hydra, 2 Drainilar]
Ice-element Katar
Assassin Dagger
A couple of unbreakable weapons in storage.
* Replace some hydras with monkey fist cards if you can’t reach 195 aspd.
** These are used for flee-type enemies you can’t hit otherwise
Shield
Buckler [Thara Frog Card]
XILE-RO STALKER PVP GUIDE
XILE-RO STALKER PVP GUIDE
by : Nikko
Introduction
Stalkers are unarguably the most versatile of all classes for 1 obvious reason – they can copy other classes’ skills. This is definitely an advantage for stalkers.
It doesn’t take a lot to own in PvP with a stalker but it does take a lot to overcome things that can screw you.
Builds
As stated, this is the most versatile class of all. There are A LOT of feasible builds that you can do. However, I will only cover the a couple of builds as they are the most common.
Build 1 – Bow/Crit Build
This is pretty much the MOST common build of all stalkers because it has high dex which increases the chance of stripping.
Str: 30-ish – this is for you to be able to carry a lot of arrows and weapons without being overweight.
Agi: 195 atk spd after adding dex.
Vit: The rest~
Int: 1
Dex: 230~ - This should be multiple of 10 e.g. 234+126. You should add dex first as it increases your atk spd.
Luk: Unlike snipers, stalkers doesn’t have any skills that can increase their crit. Personally, I only go up to 80 crit maximum with this build but it is up to you.
Build 2 – Hybrid build: Bow/Int Build.
This build is what I’ve been using since I started using stalker which is since around late 2006. But this build will leave you a lot less HP compare to a pure bow build due to the reason that you will have to put some into int. This means that you will have to be much more ‘sneakier’ and smart in order to not lose a lot of HP before the midst of the fight.
Str: 30-ish – this is for you to be able to carry a lot of arrows and weapons without being overweight.
Agi: 195 atk spd after adding dex.
Vit:
Int: 160-180ish~ This can be multiple of 5 or 10.
Dex: 210~ This should be multiple of 10 e.g. 234+126. You should add dex first as it increases your atk spd.
Luk: This is entirely up to you if you want to put some crit but this means that you will have less HP. If you do want to put crit, I suggest to only go up to 65-70 crit.
Gears
Headgear:
Upper:
4 BKC – Headgear of your choice – LKH, Black Helm, EQW.
4 Pharaoh Cards – Headgear of your choice – LKH, Black Helm, EQW. (keep this in storage)
4 Gibbets – Headgear of your choice – LKH, Black Helm, EQW.
Middle:
Evil/Angel Wing Ears – Maya Purple Card
Evil/Angel Wing Ears – Orc Hero Card
Evil/Angel Wing Ears – Evil Snake Lord Card
Evil/Angel Wing Ears – BKC
Evil/Angel Wing Ears – Gibbet
Lower:
For a pure bow build, your best bet with wings would be an Omega Wing – more dex and vit.
For a hybrid build, your best bet with wings would be either an Alpha Wing – more luk and int. The reason behind this is that with this build, you will rely mostly on the skill that you copied and this is assuming that you copied bolts.
Cards needed for wings:
-BKC
-Orc Hero Card
-Marduk Card
-Gibbet Card
Armour:
You will need to be careful with the armours that you choose because some armours are very heavy but you can always put the unneeded ones in the storage. :P
Elements that you need to have in your armours:
-Ghost Property
-Fire Property
-Undead Property
-Holy Property (you will only need this armour against certain classes)
-Water Element
-Wind Element
-Unfrozen
-Shadow Element
The elements that are commonly used in PvP are Neutral, Fire and Undead so you need to keep these armours on you all the time.
Weapon:
Bows available:
- Soul Seeker[4]; Seeker[4]; Composite Bow[4]; Bow[4]
I suggest you use Soul Seeker for your 'damage' bow. Seeker for Curse and Stun status. Bow for Silence and Poison. Composite Bow for Freeze and Sleep.
A stalker’s best friend is statuses. Without them, owning with this class will be MUCH MORE harder.
Damage Bows:
-3 Hydra 1 Assaulter
-3 Hydra 1 Golem Card (unbreakable weapon)
Statuses that you need to have:
-Curse (Magnolia Card)
-Stun (Savage Babe Card)
-Freeze (Marina Card)
-Sleep (Plankton Card)
-Silence (Metaller Card)
oThese statuses will be the main ones that you will use so keep them with you all the time.
-Poison (Zenorc Card) *keep in storage*
-Confusion (Requiem Card) *keep in storage/optional*
You will also need an Oblivion Blade/Lord’s Knife with 4 Monkey Fist Cards compounded in them.
I suggest to put the Marina and Plankton Cards in Bows[4] and the rest in Composite Bows[4].
Garments:
[copied from Hen’s guide]
You’ll need several slotted manteaus carded with:
- Raydric Card (-20% neutral damage)
- Jakk Card (-30% fire damage)
- Mist Card (-30% poison damage)
- Dustiness Card (-30% wind damage)
- Isis Card (-30% shadow damage)
- Mars Card (-30% water damage)
- Hode Card (-30% earth damage)
- Marionette Card (-30% ghost damage)
- Ragamuffin Manteau (+10 Mdef and can be bought from the Mall)
Only keep with you the ones that you will use most of the time which are Raydric, Jakk and Mist Manteaus.
Shoes:
Sleipnier
Accessory:
Ancient Glove of Exile x2 – applies to both builds covered.
Ancient Earring of Faith – only applies to the hybrid build.
Clip of Clairvoyant – Sight (Horong Card) *always keep this on you; it is very handy ;]*
Shield:
A guard with GTB/TGTB
A buckler Thara Frog Card (Cranial)
If you can afford elite/prt sets then use them.
Skills that you can copy:
Pure Bow build:
-Raging Triple Blow – this can be very annoying to your opponent because it can stunlock and it goes through Pnuema DUNDUNDUN!
-Pressure – this skill can be a pain in the ass. It can drain 40% sp in the first use and it also causes Bleeding status which stops Mana recovery and it also drains your opponent’s HP.
-Sharpshooting – DS/Sharpshoot spam – ‘nuff said.
-Charge Arrow
-Phantasmic Arrow .. possibly.
-Storm Gust
-Acid Terror
-I can’t think of anything else that you can copy but I will update this, though.
Hybrid Build:
-Fire/Cold/Lightning Bolt
-Jupitel Thunder
-Storm Gust
-Lightning Spear of Ice (personally, I prefer this because it has less delay and can stunlock far better than the normal bolts.)
General Strategies
Oblivion Blade/Lord’s Knife with 4 MFC + Cranial Buckler – In the start of every fight, you should have this on as it will give you 47/40 more stats which means that you will have more dex for higher divest chance and more vit for more HP. Whenever you are trying to divest, try and always put these equips on. When you are trying to divest, you will more likely to receive damage while doing it so the cranial shield will help you with that.
DS Flash – This is very effective when you are trying to freeze/sleep. This is done by going out of Chase Walk, DS and the use Chase Walk immediately. This will do a little damage but also give you the chance of statusing your enemy.
Divest [equip] – This is better than using Full Divest because it has a higher chance and some classes relies on one of their equipments for damage. e.g. Lord Knight, Sniper.
Backslide Divest – This can be hard to do especially when you haven’t mastered how to effectively use backslide. This is done by Backsliding towards your enemy and then immediately divesting. The more efficient way of doing this is by clicking somewhere after you backslide as this cancels out its animation. This also means that you will be able to use divest faster. However, this can be really hard to do.
Force GTB-use – This only applies to the hybrid build. This is basically using the skill that you copied (e.g. bolts) to force your opponent to wear GTB which means that your bow damage will increase.
Bolt+Divest Combo – This is done by bolting your enemy once which stunlocks them for a bit which gives you enough time to walk to them and divest.
Equip switch – Switch to your Faith accessory and Oblivion Blade/Lord’s Knife with 4 MFC + Cranial Buckler if you are trying to bolt your enemy and then switch back to Exile if you are using your bow.
PvP Guide
I will not be able to cover all the possible scenarios. However, you can use this guide as a basis on what to do.
Lord Knights
Difficulty: 2.5/5
This match is an equal match but it leans towards your favour a little.
At the start of the match, you should have Oblivion Blade/Lord’s Knife with 4 MFC + Cranial Buckler. The key in this match is to avoid being damaged by the LK. The first thing that you need to focus on is divesting the LK’s weapon because without it, they will not be able to use Spiral and they are left with Bash and Headcrush. The most effective way of divesting the LK’s weapon is by using the backslide divest. If you are not competent about this then you can just try and pop out beside him and using Divest Weapon. If the LK is smart i.e. try and move out of your divesting range, you should use DS Flash and try and freeze the LK. LKs have little or no luk so freezing shouldn’t be a problem. After you freeze them, use Full Divest and the match is pretty much done. If the LK have unfrozen on, then you have to start using statuses. The first status that you use against LKs is Curse. They have low luk is cursing them should not be a problem. When they are cursed, you just basically crit them to death. A smart LK will use hide and just wait for the curse to disappear. If this is the case, get your poisoning bow out. Curse the LK again and after they are cursed, poison them. (Make sure that you have your sound on because there is no way of knowing if the LK is poisoned or not if they are cursed; wait for the sound that the poison status make before you stop trying.). REMEMBER TO USE THE SKILL THAT YOU COPIED WHENEVER NECESSARY.
If you are a hybrid stalker, the first thing you do is the same as above. If the LK is smart, this is where you force them to use GTB. This will benefit you because it means that your damage will increase and the LK SP consumption will double. As they don’t have high SP, this should be a problem to them.
If you are trying to Silence your enemy, do not waste more than 4 seconds in trying because it is more likely that they have anti-silence on (Marduk Card).
In general, you should try and strip their weapon if you have the chance. As well as this, you should always try and get out of Spiral’s range.
You will have to have anti-stun on. Have your anti-curse ready in case the LK puts on Nightmare Terror.
Paladins
Difficulty: 3.5/5
This can be a hard duel to win. The first thing that you need to do is divest the pally’s shield because after this, all their defensive skills will be gone >;]. If they start doing the run->pressure->run. You should try and curse the pally. This will make their Pressure useless as they will have 0 luk. When they are cursed, you should try and freeze them and then use Full Divest.
When you have divested their shield or cursed them, it is more likely that they will use Battle Chant. This is your chance to inflict damage or just curse them again.
Keep your Water Armour handy as the Paladin can bolt you. If they are a str Pally, then armour change as well. Beware of the getting frozen so an Unfrozen Water Armour would be the best one to use.
Make sure to use the skill that you copied if necessary.
If you are trying to Silence your enemy, do not waste more than 4 seconds in trying because it is more likely that they have anti-silence on (Marduk Card).
A general tactic is to keep the pally busy with defending themselves because there is a large margin of error in their side. Plus, they will not be able to go on the offense because they will just get divested. ;P
Creators
Difficulty: 5/5
Sigh… a stalker’s nemesis. They have FP, Slims, chunks of HP and those annoying plants.
The first thing that you do is Curse the creator. This means that you’ll have an easy to time getting our of their AD’s range. After they are cursed, try and stunning them. This will prevent them from slimming. If they use hide, take advantage of their plants. Hide under them, then use Sight and then attack. In a hybrid stalker’s case, use your bolts to force them to wear GTB. If you can afford more than 1 Ghost armour, then perfect. Ready a few Ghost armours so whenever the one you have equipped breaks you can just wear another one.
If you are trying to Silence your enemy, do not waste more than 4 seconds in trying because it is more likely that they have anti-silence on (Marduk Card).
A general tip is to make sure that you keep out of AD’s range and prevent them from breaking your weapon.
Make sure to keep in hand your anti-curse as they might wear a Nightmare Terror Armour.
Whitesmiths
Difficulty: 3/5
A WS’s adversary is being Cursed because all their offensive skills are short-range so this is the first thing that you should do. If they have anti-curse on, use DS+Flash and try to freeze them. If they have Unfrozen on, just shower them with statuses. If they use Throw Tomahawk, wear your shield so this way, your weapon will not be broken because you are not wearing one. Ha! Take this time to also try and divest their weapon (Backslide + Divest!).
A hybrid stalker should not have a hard time beating a WS because:
1. You would force them to wear GTB which means that your damage will increase
2. This also means that they cannot use Throw Tomahawk because they would need a Reaper for that which is 2-handed. :P
If you are trying to Silence your enemy, do not waste more than 4 seconds in trying because it is more likely that they have anti-silence on (Marduk Card).
Make sure that you have anti-stun on.
A general tip is to armour change accordingly.
Assassin Crosses
Difficulty: 4/5
The ones that you will have the most problem with are players who can use Backslide and can weapon change effectively.
You will have a hard time trying to status them because they will ALWAYS be cloaking. So in this fight, you will mostly have your Oblivion Blade/Lord’s Knife with 4 MFC + Cranial Buckler on. Make sure to have Sight on as well. A sinx will more likely to go up to you and use Meteor Assault. This will be your chance to divest – divest their headgear first as this will make them lose a lot of stats. Make sure to keep sight up. Most sinx will probably have a casting time after you’ve divested their helm so this will be the time to chase them (with Sight up!) and melee or DS spam.
This is not always the case however. As I said, the ones who will give you the problem are the ones who can use Backslide effectively. The way around this is if you know that they are going to Backslide, DS them.
As a hybrid stalker, force them to wear a GTB first and then try and divest their helm.
If you are trying to Silence your enemy, do not waste more than 4 seconds in trying because it is more likely that they have anti-silence on (Marduk Card).
A general tip is to armour change accordingly. As well as this, be cautious when they have EDP on because this will cause nasty damage.
Stalkers
Difficulty: */5
This is a match of who gets to divest first or who is smarter.
There are far too much possible scenarios with this fight but generally, you have to try and not get divested while making sure that you are in the offense as well.
Make sure that you have your Maya Purple Mid-headgear on and anti-silence.

Ack.. I hate battling profs :<
If you don’t have a TGTB, then unfortunately you cannot win this fight. (With GTB, they can just use Heaven’s Drive, Soul Burn and then bolt you to death :[)
If you do have TGTB, however, make sure to put on at first. They will more likely to Soul Burn you and then start attacking. When they start attacking, put your Pharaoh Helm and cranial shield on and divest their headgear and then their weapon. In most cases, you will have divested both of them before they can even react. If they are smart, they would start bolting you once they see you divesting. After you have divested them, status them and then crit them to death.
If you are a hybrid stalker, do the same thing but instead of divesting their weapon, divest their shield. Try and divest their weapon as well if you get the chance. After they are divested, just bolt them to death.
If you are trying to Silence your enemy, do not waste more than 4 seconds in trying because it is more likely that they have anti-silence on (Marduk Card).
Make sure to wear anti-silence and anti-curse on. Switch to anti-stun if necessary.
A good strategy against Profs is to armour change. Put your Shadow Armour on at first and when they endow, switch your armour accordingly.

If you don’t have a TGTB, then unfortunately you cannot win this fight.
Make sure you have TGTB on at first. More likely that they will use Magnum Break to MC you so switch armours. This is also your chance to divest them because you will not get stunlock by MC. Divest their helm first and then their weapon. After this, they are pretty much hopeless. Beware if they can still cast bolts if they are divested though. If this is the case, then get out of their range and start statusing them.
If you are a hybrid stalker, instead of divesting their helm, divest their shield. After they are divested, just bolt them to death. Divest their helm if you get the chance as well.
A general strategy is to armour switch accordingly.

XILE-RO PALADIN GUIDE
XILE-RO PALADIN GUIDE
by: Night.Shifter
Introduction :
There are people who are asking me what my stats or equips are. I made this build coz i want to share some knowledge about the job and i don’t really see a lot of pallies around. My guide will only cover my reflect build, high luk sacrifice build and grand cross/sacri build for now. This is my first guide so it’s not perfect. i’ll try to keep this guide updated.
Equipments :
Set : +10/+0 Mixset (composing of EMPH,EMPs,SAW and COB+BOG)
using the mixset will give u the maximum hp u’ll need in-game i believe....this doesnt mean u cant use any other sets for my builds.
However, with this set and also my equips (below), i could get about 577k hp max.... with only just using bkc's however, u can get more using 5 jirachi cards.. my HP is 585k with 5 jirachi cards, which means i cant tank more longer using devotion.
I prefer the other sets for battle type pallies as they will not need high hp unlike the Mixset which is used for pure hp build.
Weapons : (u can have more weapons if u want, this is my mostly used weapons in-game)
• Quad mfc DD or GDD (4 mfc)
• Triple Bloody Boned DD or GDD (3 hydra + skel worker card)
• Perfect Triple [Status] Godly OB (eg. Phree + 3 plankton cards)
Accesories :
• 2 o.greed or 2 greed
Foot Gear :
+0/+10 Boots of guidance w/ Martyr card
+0/+10 Boots of guidance w/ Moonlight Flower card
Armors : (you can have more armors if u wish, its just these 3 are my mostly used armors. I also use Coat of Brilliance in all of these)
• Mirror Armor
• Ghost Armor
• Holy Armor
Garments :
• +7/+10 Immune Manteau (raydric card); it reduces neutral attacks such as occult impact and asura
• +7/+10 Genie's Manteau (reduces water property attacks eg.players using bos)
• +7/+10 Flameguard Manteau (reduces fire property attacks eg. players using magnum break)
• +7/+10 Innoxious Manteau (reduces poison property attacks eg. assasins using poison react)
Shields :
• +7/+10 Reflect guard/shield/mirror shield (maya card)
• +7/+10 Cranial shield (thara frog card)
• +7/+10 Shield of Retaliation (High Orc Card)
• GTB/TGTB
• +7/+10 Heavy shield (Horn Card)

-This skill build is my mostly used build when im on my pally, this is my Grand cross skill build.
Stats :
Legend :
red - the thing u should do first
green - 2nd
yellow - 3rd
blue - 4th
purple - 5th
Martyr’s Reckoning/Grand Cross Paladin/PvP
Str : not needed
Agi : u should have your triple bloody boned GDD/DD equipped and get 195 aspd so that u could use all of the
3 weapons above with 195 aspd.
Vit : maxed out
Int : rest of the stats goes here
Dex : u could have your dex insta-cast for the triple bloody boned GDD/DD so that u can insta-cast skills with
all 3 weapons stated above.
Luk : not needed
-i use this build when im trying to kill a ws or clown. I would grand cross them and if they ever change to holy, i will use sacri to kill them. This doesn’t mean it happens all the time though. Any clown or WS can easily kill u with their tarots or CT. So have ur friend sinX with u to SB them hehe.
Martyr’s Reckoning/high luk build/My 3v3 Build
Str : rest of the stats goes here
Agi : u should have your triple bloody boned GDD/DD equipped and get 195 aspd so that u could use all of the
3 weapons above with 195 aspd.
Vit : maxed out
Int : not needed
Dex : u could have your dex insta-cast for the triple bloody boned GDD/DD so that u can insta-cast skills with
all 3 weapons stated above.
Luk : ur luk should sum up to 230 (eg. 190+150) and above so u will not get a status easily.
Some PVP tips:
It will take sometime to take a pally down when it has full gear on, even if it hasn’t got any other buffs besides his own buffs. In pvp-ing, i normally use reflect gears so that anyone who uses physical attack on me would ended up killing themselves. ( note : always use provoke + pressure on ur opponents coz pressure does MP reduction and provoke lowers their def a bit )
SinX : just have your full reflect equips on (which are : shield of retaliation , quad mfc DD/GDD and mirror armor). U could switch to ur other armors if they happen to use breaker on u and it has a high damage. If they use MA just counter attack it with MB. Pressure them to death and use provoke on them so that they would hit u harder and giving themselves a higher reflect damage as well.
Difficulty : 2/5
Champ : this is the job we’ll love to kill if we were wearing reflect/redux equips (which composed of : mirror armor + cranial shield + quad mfc GDD/DD). Use provoke on them always so they can hit u harder. The harder they hit, the easier they will get themselves killed. If they killed u with their asura, dnt worry. Just come back and pressure them so they would have a lesser asura damage due to the mp reduction. u'll just have to have many yggs when pvp-ing with champs bcoz u need to be in full hp at all times. however, if they have song of lutie buff. They would probably kill u or die with u, so get lutie as well so u could have a higher chance of killing them with ur reflect.
Difficulty : 2/5
Wizard : if u have gtb or tgtb on, it will be hard for them to kill u. wizards will have all their attacks reduced on u because of your buffs + your gtb/tgtb shield. Just always be alert on what spells theyre using on u, if its an AoE spell keep ur gtb on and keep using pressure + provoke on them so they would get annoyed, u can try killing them with GC or Sacri. When im vs-ing wizards, i would use my phree + 3 plankton cards so that they will go to sleep, this is time is the best for spamming GC because they cant really do anything, just quickly change your weap into quad mfc DD/GDD so that u'll have a high damage GC. However, if the spell is just a type of bolt just switch into your reflect shield, they will tend to loose hp real quick and die for a few second if they cast those bolts carelessly. i almost forgot u'll have to use the sacri/GC build so u can use GC in this situation.
Difficulty : 3/5
WhiteSmith : i have to say that this is one of the most powerful opponents u'll have in-game. theres somethings u can do to try kill them. i usually use my GC/Sacri build to pvp this job. cause if theyre noob enough they will switch to their holy armour if cast a GC on them, this is the best time to hit them with sacri ( note : always use ur quad mfc DD/GDD for GC to get high damage ), another thing u can do is put ur phree + 3 plankton cards weap on to make them sleep, its nice to use ur GC here because they cant really move for like a few seconds. You can Switch armours like holy to shadow armor to reduce their CT damage, but never use ghost or mirror when the WS is casting CT on u as these two armors will have a higher damage than holy/shadow. Try to make them freeze as well if they are still up, then use sacri to hit them while theyre iced. oh, and always use provoke + pressure on them. both of them helps even if they dont do as much, it can make u win too. you'll also need to have FP when versing a WS, coz sometimes when they feel that they can kill u by breaking ur stuffs with their high damage normal attack, u can put ur mirror armour on so that it will just get reflected on them. they would prolly die on this. thats all i can think of how to beat a WS..However, Battle type pallies have a greater chance of winning this fight as well but im still working on it.
Difficulty : 5/5
Clown/Dancer : i use my GC/sacri build on this too (same offensive tactics like on the WS pvp tip), but i dont really fight this job because theyre gay jks.. they will tarot u to death which ****s and thats about it. if im versing this job, i'll pm some sinx on my friend list to kill him, if hes too hard for me haha. And also for this job, battle type pallies has a greater chance of winning coz of theyre statuses and normal attack dmg, but yeah, im still working on it haha.
Difficulty : 5/5
Professor : just put ur full hp/reflect gear on (which are : GDD/DD quad mfc, reflect quard) and just ygg urself till he/she dies of his/her own bolts. if the prof's pro, and he uses heaven's drive. just switch to ur gtb/tgtb to block it....(same offensive tactics apply here from the WS tip) U should prolly win this fight because he/she cant really kill u. lol
Difficulty : 1/5
3v3 : I normally wear my full reflect build when im doing 3v3, so that attackers(sinx, champs) will dmg themselves as well. Just spam giggling boxes when u get hit, u'll have to be in full hp at all times. Changing into appropriate weapons, shields and armors will make
u strong in 3v3, and also u need giggling boxes all the time. This could be farmed by using a wraith card and killing undead mobs in maps such as orcsdun01.
There are people who are asking me what my stats or equips are. I made this build coz i want to share some knowledge about the job and i don’t really see a lot of pallies around. My guide will only cover my reflect build, high luk sacrifice build and grand cross/sacri build for now. This is my first guide so it’s not perfect. i’ll try to keep this guide updated.

blue - 4th
purple - 5th
